Hi all

I have a boilermate 2 storage tank with a potterton suprima 30 boiler.
I want to isolate the boiler from the heating circuit so I can remove the boilers heat exchanger for clean and repair, whilst still using the heating using the element via the tank.
Question is, I know by removing the heat exchanger, the feed and supply pipes are going to be open ended and water is still going to be pumped around via the boiler.
I can't see any form of isolation on the circuit, so what's the best method ?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Any Gas Safe guy or gal should know this. If you are asking such a simple question, you cannot be gas safe or SHOULD not be Gas Safe. Get qualified person who knows what he she is doing to take care of your boiler needs

Fair point made.
But I'm not touching any gas pipes, controls or fittings, nor would I want to not for the sake of few quid
Just the heat exchanger which is full of scale and restricting the flow.

By opening up the boiler and removing the heat exchanger you are working on.a gas appliance.

I can think of at least 5 parts of a Suprima, affecting gas combustion, that need disturbing to remove the heat exchanger.

I cannot think of ANY part of a Suprima that is not associated with the gas combustion!

Apart from the removable cover on the PCB side!
