:D Hi all,
had the pcb replaced on my potterton suprima 40 a few months back and has worked fine since. Anyhow yesterday it has started tripping out and making horrendous banging noises {sounds like air in system} notice its thrown a small amount of water out of the overflow/vent.I have partially flushed the system. But it still keeps cutting in and out after about 2mins with loud bubbling/banging noises as the water in boiler starts to heat up. Wonder if its worth trying the fernox boiler silencer? Or if I should look elsewhere with this one.

Best regards,

Guess a blocked pump would seem to make sense as obviously the flow through the boiler would be virtualy non existent and it would overheat possibly producing steam pronto..... Thanks jason I will check this out .

2 minutes might be on the long side if the pump is stopped dead. COuld be short of water, or long on air! What do you mean by "overflow/vent"? Is it a sealed heating system with a pressure guage?

Hi Chris,
Its a wall mounted potterton suprima 40. Which is a balanced flue fan assisted boiler. As far as I know it is none pressurised.

I will check the water level of the expansion tank when i look at the pump which is in the loft...

thanks Chrisogreero
