I have a potterton suprima 50 with an intermittent lockout, usually happens when firing up when in heating mode. Called for heat and it will not start - not even runs the fan. Press reset and it is up and running but it's not consistent. Any clues???
Has it been checked/serviced recently?Has the PCB ever been changed from the original?Intermittent lockouts are caused by many things on these boilers and you need to be competent to investigate inside the combustion cover.
45YAGM is leading you the right way, remove the right hand side panel (screw above the temp control); undo the top screw and tilt pcb forward - has the pcb a 'skid mark' in the middle by the 2 diodes? If YES then you have the old pcb and it's sh*ged.
Or if it is a grey box you need a RGI as it is more complex than that.
the "skidmark" is a result of heat and doesn't necessarily mean the pcb has had it. if thats all you rely on to diagnose it thats poor information IMO.
Ex Baxi/Potterton - that's what we looked for on nuisance lockouts. The overheating issue was 60s and above fitted without compartment ventillation which caused a totally diiferent nuisance lockout.
