Problem with Boiler Thermostat?

Hello!

Our combi boiler is having an issue, its fine when you switch the heating on at first, but when the boiler gets up to temperature it seems to be unable when to switch itself back on, it clicks on and off constantly for a while and then comes on for a while, then repeats.

I suspect an issue with the thermostat but I am unsure, could it be summat more serious? If I play around with the thermostat for a while trying different settings it begin to settle down. Hot water works perfectly.

Any ideas and if theres summat wrong how much am I looking at?

I would suggest that its an ignition issue perhaps associated with the fan/APS but thats really a CORGI job.
