Hello I have a question about ceiling light. I had old pendant light. When I removed it there were 3 cables. 2 connect together with power and one neutral. I bought simple lamp from b and q and I connect exacly in the same way.
1. My lights in porch stop working, but it turn on light in this room
2. My lights in hallway downstairs stop working. This in 2 gang switch I could turn on light upstairs or downstairs. The light upstairs is working but downstairs no and downstair swith is turning on again light from room
When I turn on swith from porch or hallway light i room is not strong, when I turn on switch from room the light is much brighter.
What I did?
I try connect only 1 wire power, but then switch from room is not working and I can use switches from corridor but light is flashing. When I change wire room switch is working, corridors switches not turning light in room, still no light in halway and porch.
I hope you understand my post as my english is not perfect. Thank you

You have not judging by the picture.

Your new light fitting apparently needs to be earthed, and there does not appear to be an earth conductor present In your lighting circuit. If this is so ,you must not fit any light fitting that requires earthing.

That may well be true of what is available at the light position (in which case, without modification of wiring, what you say is correct) , but the 3C+E at one of the switches certainly has an 'earth'..

Actually I think the 2C may be T&E too

Judging by the shape of the sheath.

However I think I see 3 blacks at the light and potentially some conversion/junction boxes in force
