pump up the creek ??

hi helpers, just got back from sis in laws she seems to have hot water but rads all cold, on investigation i found that the pump ( grundfos )dont seem to be working took nut out all i found was a squirt of water and the spindle wasnt turning. what can go wrong with a pump apart from electrics ? I have freed the spindle but still not turning have checked the2 port valves they seem to be working ok. so do you think it needs changing ? thank you Poshman

sounds like it but try it on a different speed, it may be that only one of the electrical windings on the pump has gone.

You don't appear to have checked whether there is a live electrical supply to the pump.

chris I did check wiring all seems fine and tried on a different speed but no different pipe is hot on top side of pump cold on the other side ..cheers P M

basically if you have got 240v on the pump terminals and its not spinning then it's dead.

thanks for that i dont mind doing the jobs its the fault finding im not too sure about so like to be 100% before i buy
