Purple egg like things on lawn?

Any keen gardeners able to help me identify this? Over the last week or so clusters of tiny purple/lavender coloured egg like things had appeared on our lawn clinging to the blades of grass - it's been quite wet here for a week or so, so when I get chance to mow I assume they'll be erradicated.

I just wondered if anyone knew what they were as a web search produced nothing and my wife is scared stiff of them, I had to stop her pouring boiling water on the grass

Those look like Apple Snail eggs to me.

Yeah they do look alot like that piccy but alot more purple in colour kinda of like a ribena berry!

I found some purple eggs on my grass as well so I took a sample into a green house in town and found out they are not eggs at all but slime mold. Here is a link with pictures of the slime mold. probably long gone by now i suspect, even if they have hatched into a snails
