Hello

Can any of you guys help with options for using pv to heat /buffer hot water on the central heating side?

Will be looking to install unvented for hot water side but wondered if there is an equivalent immersion type or something else to aid central heating?

Thanks

Thermal store will be the most elegant way of trapping spare PV energy. If you do go that road you won't need the hot water cylinder as well- dhw can be heated either by a 2nd coil in the store or via plate heat exchanger.

Unless you have a HUGE pv array its not worth it?
My array is 5.7kW. I'm exporting less than 1kWh on a very sunny day at the moment. The rest is going towards house electric and battery charging.

If you really must then an external immersion heater with something like an Iboost would work.
