Hi all,

The locking mechanism on my pvc door has got jammed. I lifted the handle to lock the door, but it didn't feel a smooth as usual. Now I cant open the door.

I think there could be some muck or dirt jammed in the locking mechanism.

Has anybody got any ideas how to release it? I was think of trying to remove the whole door by taking the hinges off.

Thanks in anticipation!

Mark.

This happened some time ago to our PVC door.

I'm an electrician by trade so not a door specialist, however I solved the problem by taking it off the hinges then fiddling about with it. Not done it since anyway.

I've looked at the hinges but I cant figure out how they are removed. I'm wondering if there is some sort of special tool to get them off?

I think they are called FLAG type hinges

Not sure, ours were a standard allen key type fastening 5mm i think.
