Hi all

I have a Pyronix Sterling 10.

Recently the keypad panel downstairs went off (nothing displayed)

After reading a few posts on here, yesterday I replaced the battery inside the control box upstairs. The system started up, alarm and all the sensors working perfectly.

This morning, the panel downstairs is once again blank and the new battery is drained.

All 4 of fuses on the board are ok and the green LED light is showing.

So presumably the alarm doesn’t work with a depleted battery…but why did both the old and new battery drain so quickly?

I can’t see anything else to check so unless anyone else has any suggestions it might be time to cut all the cables and buy a new alarm system?! Alarm companies want approx £100 just to come and look at the problem without any idea if they can resolve.

Any ideas gratefully received.

Thanks in advance.
A.

Why would you cut all the cables ? Worst case new control panel and keypad and re use all the existing detectors

I’ve seen so called alarm company’s come and change a battery after an issue with an alarm panel ….. AND not checked what is actually coming out of the battery terminals …. Either low volts or over voltage …
