I just fitted a semi pedestal basin to a plasterboard wall

In order to give the basin/fixing strength, I placed some wood (approximate size was 2 x 4) behind the plasterboard and screwed some long wood screws into this .

I then used a santary fixing kit to secure the basin to the plasterboard/wood

Will my basin be okay?

Normally, I would screw a noggin between the studs but this was not possible due to space restriction

Is there anything protecting the plaster board from becoming wet?
I personally would have used the noggin fixed to the studs. I'd not be happy with the plaster board taking the weight, even with the load spread out with some additional timber.

Yes, the plasterboard wall was tanked, tiled and grouted

Thanks for the comment

It'll be all right but shame you couldn't nog it or even stick a vertical in under your batten to transfer load to the sole plate.
