This, I am sure, is a daft question - but then, I'm an utter, utter newbie to DIY - I brought my first drill yesterday from screwfix (a Makita BHP453SH)

- and I got a set of drill bits without reading the description too closely:

The bits are hexagonal - like the screwdriver bit that came with the drill. I used one of the wood bits sucessfully this evening - but then I took a more careful look and realised, these weren't the type of bit I'd have expected to use in a drill from seeing other people use them (I'm very used to electric screwdrivers, so didn't initially question the hex bits).
Can I use the hexagonal 'quick change' bits safely in a traditional drill?
Thanks, Wemb
