radiator bleed gromit overtightend

hi folks

ONe of the radiators in my flat needs bled but the bleeding gromit has been overtightend and chewed so now it wont come loose.

Is there any tricks of getting these off?

If it iw within a larges 3/4" 'nut' the whole thing can be removed and replaced.

also if it set in a hex socket. The radiator key with the hex shaft has a hole drilled in the end to fit round a stuck pin.
