Hi folks,
Please bear with me on this one...Our poorly thrown together house of 12 years aged needed a revamp of the downstairs shower room, I'm a stonemason to trade, have my HNC Building but obviously not clued in to every trade. Cut it short, rotten rusting radiator, removed and took all ancillary fittings out , and at one side there used to be a TRV(removed because the building regs stated that there had to be a permanent heat escape/leak), I removed the bits with a 30mm spanner... all good. On the other side it's all different, I was planning to keep it simple, re-use the appropriate bits, extend the tails (It was Uponor, when they removed the TRV they simply bent the 14mm pipe over...Oh how I hate Uponor)...but now I realise this is a "standard" tail fitting, and the other end looks like it has an olive where it connects to the lock shield valve... are these disposable, there looks no way of removing the olive (shi$e design)..... May be a trip to William Wilson with a bag of bits lol
Any advice appreciated... and on rebuilding the connections I've got Jointing Compound for the copper faces which I believe mate up ok.... for all threads it will be PTFE and paste.... but again, any advice from you pros is welcome....
Thanks!!
