radiator flushing

I'd be grateful if someone could please advise on this.
I would like to flush a couple of radiators using a pressurised sludge remover. Do I have to remove the radiators before doing so - or can I simply apply the cleaning product through the radiator's air vents?

If it's only a couple there's little point using a machine. Take them in the garden and get jiggy with a hose and a friend
