Radiator with no bleed valves?

I have a radiator in my kitchen. The water inlet and outlet are both at the bottom, but there's no bleed valve at the top of the rad. I'm considering moving it so I'm expecting to drain the system down, I'm just a bit concerned about air pockets when I refill.

Any advice would be welcome!

Thanks

Jim

Although there may be no bleed valve fitted, is there no provision for one by way of threaded holes at the top which are usually fitted with a screw in plug. If there is you will have to remove one and fit a bleed valve or slacken the plug until air escapes.
I'm under the impression that most radiators have the same size threaded hole at each corner so there are choices on the pipe work layout and there is always one of the top holes available for the provision of a bleed valve.

Going by my box of bits, there are 3 body sizes for bleed valves. There are radiarors with almost hidden bleed valves at the back.

it might just be a roll top rad in which case the bleed points will be on the to left or right hand corner, maybe behind a plastic nipple thing (technical term that hope it aint over you head) ;)

:D Yep, found it now! It was indeed behind a plastic nipple thing!

Thanks Corgiman, I'll look more carefully next time!
