Radiators red hot but got no hot water

Any ideas? Heating is on, red hot, but though there's water in the tank it's not getting hot. The pipes are hot up to the what looks like a valve (duoval). Help needed please

Is this what the duoval thing is then? Is it a big job?

if you have the programmer on hw, you need to check the cylinder stat is getting power, and the valve is getting power.

what happens on just hw mode does the pump run ?

Sounds to me from afar that the HW zone valve is knackered and stuck shut.

Haven't heard about a duovalve only duoballs

This might help. It's a Sunvic Duoval, not spring return IIRC, so could have failed in closed to cylinder position.

I've switched the heating off and left the water on but it looks like the pump is still going.
Thanks guys for the replies, you've been a big help. Looks like I need to get a new valve sorted. Best phone a plumber tomorrow...or my Dad
