chemical flushed under pressure in heating system. Since then some upstairs radiators need bleeding every three days. This problem has been continous since november 2008.
The only fitting done was a gate valve on f&e tank

Have you checked whether the ball valve in the f&e tank is constantly running/dribbling?

If so you could now have a leak caused by the flushing and fresh water is constantly entering the system and giving of air when heated.

Te gate valve on the & e tank: was it on the cold feed pipe (which is not allowed anyway)? if so - are the compression nuts tightly done up - small micro leaks which allow no water out but air in, can have a build up which causes air build up regularly in the system.

possibly not flushed and neutralised properly depending on chemicals used and still reacting with system
