Hi,
I'm building a raised deck that goes over a sewer. I have planning permission and permission from the water board to access the sewer inspection chamber (putting a hatch in the decking).
I am supporting the deck at one side from the house wall. Can I just support the other side? Tricky to sink decking posts down anywhere near the sewer.
1m high
3.5m wide x 2.5m span - C16 treated 6x2 @ 400 centres. Span tables say this is fine from what I can tell.
Attached to the house on one side (6x2 ledger board attached to brick wall).
I was thinking of supporting the other side with beefy 150x150mm or even 200x200mm treated posts sunk 1m or more into the ground. 1 post every metre.
Will this be OK? Anything I'm missing?
Thanks
