Hi, need some advice on how to fix a raised wood floor which is creaking badly. the floor is tongue and groove knotted pine planks on 2x2 inch batons laid along the concrete sub floor. the hall bedrooms and lounge are fitted this way while kitchen and bathrooms are on original level. the floors were installed this way by the builders about 12 years ago.
now in the long term I want to fit a new wood floor, but for the moment can anyone suggest ways to stop the creaking, I have already tried talc and dilute pva adhesive

have you tried wd40?

no seriously imo the only way you can stop the creaking is find the boards at fault and add some more fixings,OBVIOUSLY making sure theres no services running where you want to put a fixing.

heeelllooo and welcome frewman :D :D :D

do you know if the floorings at least 18mm thick !!!

is it at around 400mm/16"inch centres!!!

talcum powder is good at stopping creaking if its between boards
