My house was repointed a few years ago before I owned it and there’s an area next to a new window which needs some attention. Basically the window fitter disturbed loads of bricks, the pointing has come out and now it looks a mess. It wasn’t ground out when it was done and I believe the pointing that was done was called strat or strap pointing which not many people do because it’s crap. Firstly what is the correct term for this type of pointing (as picture) and secondly does anyone know anyone who does it in the Manchester area?

It looks like weather struck and cut which is slightly different to weather struck. The bed joints are usually cut with a Frenchman and straight edge.
