Our new extension has an insulated slab. Make up of around 150mm of hardcore, 50mm sand, DPM,100mm foil backed PIR board and 100/110mm concrete. This brings us level with the DPC and the original floor slab of the house. (The house is built on a concrete slab).
The remaining house has the original, painstakingly restored 1930s parquet flooring, approx 1inch thick, Over a 1inch screed on a liquid bitchumen DPM. No damp anywhere.
So the new slab, is around 50mm lower than the finished surface of the rest of the house. Assuming floor tile and adesive around 10/12mm it leaves me to find 40mm of height.
The floor area of the new extension is around 25m2
My options as I see it are:

My options as I see it are:
- Bonded/floating traditional cement screed - even with additives, this will take a while to set.
- Some specialist screed - ££££
- Put in some more PIR boards over the insulated slab say, 25mm, and then throw some 12mm ply on top, that's 37mm, tile adhesive and tiles will take it to level... Is their an accepted method for this
- Any other suggestions?
