I have a ravenheat 84et. I am getting intermittant hot water and central heating. Sometimes the boiler runs but it does not ignite. Also I have to sometimes turn the hot water tap on and off several times for the burner to ignite. The ignition board, microswitch, electrobe and pressure switch have all been replaced. But still there is this intermittant fault.
Anyone have any suggestions please.

Not hard to diagnose but ignition is corgi territory.

Hi ya. That's the problem, it was a corgi fitter who changed all the parts.
And still it does not work properly.

Corgi membership is necessary but not necessarily a sufficient qualification!

Whilst he may be CORGI registered that only means he is safe to work with gas.

It sounds as if he is a "parts changer", someone who changes parts at your expense until it finally works.

You should expect a competent boiler engineer to be able to diagnose the fault and change the part which is faulty.

Whilst I have not inspected the boiler I expect that if he cleans the venturi or changes the gas valve it will work again.

Then you can ask him to replace the original parts and refund you the prices you have presumably already paid. If he refuses then the County Court online services is a good option.

I am sorry for the parts changers here who read this but I dont think its fair for a client to pay for good parts to be changed unnecessarily.
