I've just had an EV charge point fitted. The charge point has its own type A RCD on it.

The charge point is being run from a 32A MCB that itself is on a type AC RCD group with a floor of the house.

Is this correct with the regs for selectivity? I think the charge point has 6ma detection so is "effectively a B type" but unsure how that works.

I belive the SY cable requires RCD protection.

Having 2 RCDs should be a big issue in this case

Isn't SY cable suitable for indoor use only?

It is inside a garage and I won't be what picky that SY cable isn't under any British standard - just trying to find out more about how the integrated 6ma detection factors in.
