I have a problem with the first 4 stairs - they creak so loud it wakes my 3 year old daughter when we go up or down the stairs!
I have replaced and rescrewed the understair wedges but have not put screws in the top of the stairs as I wanted to avoid pulling the carpet up. Is screwing them down from the top the only way?
Not sure if this matters but these stairs are more creaky in the middle of the step than the ends.
