I'm planning to rebuild an ageing wooden conservatory which now leaks rather badly.

One wall is presently a solid stud wall as it faces a boundary wall. Ideally I would like to replace with blockwork or similar so the leaks don't recur.

Unfortunately there isn't enough space for a double skinned wall and I understand single skinned is not a good idea.

Can anyone suggest an alternative?

Any advice much appreciated, Keith

A single skinned, dry lined wall will be OK

Or better still, a timber frame - external cladding, membrane, 100mm timber frame with 100mm full-fill insulation, vapour check membrane, plasterboard (or vapour-check plasterboard). This will work out just under 130mm thick and be as good as an insulated 300mm cavity wall
