Hello,

I'm intending to lay reclaimed mahogany parquet (24x7.5x2 cms blocks) in various rooms which have either cement, ceramic tile or mdf flooring, all of which appear reasonably robust and level. The parquet is square-edged/flat and has no tongue and groove.....

1. Would it be possible to use the Elastilon self adhesive sheet system with these or are there good reasons why I should do something else? I was concerned that there may be a degree of wobble between each block as there are no t&g joins, or am I worrying about nothing?! I intend to lay in a brick pattern which should make the sheet sytem bearable in terms of practicality I hope.

Any advice would be very much appreciated. I looked through earlier posts which is where I learnt about Elastilon, but could not find much discussion on non T&G parquet. Any general advice on these blocks is also very welcome....

Thank you very much,
Rolf

no you cant use elastilon. Glue down only. You will need to lay a smoothing compound over the concrete section, ceramics need to be uplifted or if well bonded, abraded and then smoothing compound and on the mdf section you will need to over board with plywood.
