Recommendation for outside lights

I have tried google but have not learnt much.

I am about to fit an outside light wondered if anyone had any recommendations as to which brand.

I am looking for a security light that is activated on detecting people (PIR's I think they are called).

My electrician advised that you get what pay for. Cheap units from B&Q and such like are prone to rust, water intrudes, the detector fades in sensitivity and develop faults.

I have learnt the MK are the standard of most electrical accessories. Is there a similar standard for outside lights.
