I have a redundant FSU which I intend removing. The wires will be taped up and the fuse removed from the consumer unit. Is there anything else I am required to do - for example, fit a plate over the cavity containing the wires - to comply with current legislation?
Thanks.

the conductors should be separated in connector blocks with a flying earth lead to the back box, You can then fit a blanking plate over the switch box and remove the circuit fuse.

It will be wise to also place the live conductor of the redundant circuit (at the fuse box end) into the earthing bar of the fusebox - so if the circuit is re-used in the future, it will enable one of the earthing tests to be carried out, as the phase conductor will be connected to the earth at the fusebox.

It is also safer, as it removes the risk of accidental re-energisation etc.
