Can someone help me to find a building regulation regarding running water in a bathroom.

The story being a combi boiler has been fitted in a property with out checking the water flow rates to the property. When the washing machine is on or the downstairs tap is turned on there is no water supply to the bathroom. Meaning if some uses the toilet they can not wash their hands or run a bath.

Was wanted a Building regulation section number

many thanks

The manufacturers instructions will give you the minimum flow rate needed for the appliance !!

Thats not what he was asking.

I am not aware of any building regulation specifying the flow rate at a bathroom basin, however 3 litres per minute would usually be considered adequate for most purposes.

The flow rate into a properly only has to be about six litres from an open pipe so thats not much.

Its quite normal for no hot water upstairs with a combi boiler and a tap on downstairs when the flow into the property is from a bad mains supply.

Are you a tennant involved in an argument with the landlord?
