removal of tar/silicone

Hi everyone, I would appreciate any advice. I have pulled down the carport but am left with tar on the brickwork from the old flashband, There is also some white silicon sealant on the bricks. Despite my best efforts, it still looks a mess. Can you suggest anything to remove these deposits and clean the wall up?
