Right here we go, i apologise in advance for the amount of questions i have got to ask.

I am currently restoring an edwardian house and want to take out the first floor external window sills which are made of two layers of tiles and replace with concrete to look like original. I have currently got PVC windows. I was going to make some formwork and cast them myself but thought i better make sure i am going to do it correctly

I was going to screw a 2 x 2 timber to the wall where the bottom of the sill is going to be, then screw two sides on and allow 50mm overhang from the reveal. Then screw a front piece on and finally nail a cord on the bottom of the box to make a drip in the bottom of the sill.

Is this correct, how do you make your formwork for this?

I am confused about the following

1. Do i have to take out the windows (I thought i could do it with them in)?
2. What do you line the box with to stop the mix from sticking to it?
3. Do i need to put any re-enforcing mesh in the mix?
4. Do i need to put some DPC under the new sill (No cavity)
5. What ratio mix do you use?
6. Do you use quick dry concrete and pea shingle mix?

Any advice would be really appreciated

Thanks

Phil
