how do you remove a double plug socket from a wall?

If i turn of the electrics at the mains can I just tape the end of the wires and plaster over the hole?

What's the safest way?

you should usea 30 amp junction box or 30 amp conector blocks, (or crimps) not tape you then put a blanking plate over the socket, sorry but you can not just plaster over it, you never know you may need a socket there one day, easier to leave it.

As a thought, you could remove the cables from the wall and put a junction box on them and put it under the floor boards, then you can plaster over the wall

Thanks for the advice.

Sorry for being a bit thick but how do you remove the wires from the wall.

The socket is about 2 feet from the floorboards.

Cheers

you will have to usea hammer and suitable chiesel to remove all the existing. plaster / cement

Sometimes if you're lucky, you maybe able to it pull down underneath the floorboard if it in a plastic contour.Don't forget to turn off at the main.
