Hi all, hopefully posting in the right place - even though it is a garage roof rather than a loft!

I have recently moved into a new build and have renovated the garage (epoxyed floor, painted walls, insulation, plugs, lights, etc.)

The next step I was planning on doing attaching stapling down a couple rolls of aluminium insulation roof truss and then attaching either plasterboard or sheets of ply to better insulate the roof space.

However, currently, the trusses are connected with a diagonal board - held in by 3 x 2 nails - shown in the photo

Can I remove these? I was thinking of replacing for multiple 2 or 3 alternating bits of wood between each truss to stop any potential spread?

Picture attached - bits highlighted in red are what I was looking to remove and bits in blue are what I was looking to add
apologies for the old photo - this was whilst it was still being built - I can get a better one if required
