I have just removed some tiles from an upstairs toilet and the plaster behind the tiles is very powdery and crumbly in places.

It looks like the best idea would be to completely remove the plaster and then reboard - does this sound right?

If so, what is the best way to remove plaster from brick? If a small amount of damage is done to the brick, how does one repair it? (Is it necessary to repair brick damage?).

Thanks

hammer and bolster if its flaky.the bricks will be fine if you can slide the bolster between the plaster and the wall.

I agree with Chukka. also it doesnt matter if theres a little brick damage here and there, as long as you dont go too rough with the hammer and bolster.
is it a brick internal dividing wall or an external wall ?
