going to redecorate the living room (just emulsion) but the walls are currently covered with textured paint.

is there an easy way to remove the textured surface? or is it just a case of taking a scraper to it?

thanks in advance.

no easy way mate , a steam stripper MAY soften it up but you run the risk of blowing the plaster, how about getting it skimmed, scrape off the high bits as much as you can, then paint with a product called thistle bond which is like a geen pva sort of mix with bits in it , this will allow the plaster to key to the surface. :D
