Rendering or drywalling over new breeze block wall

I'd be grateful for your advice. What is best practice, drywalling (dot & dab) or rendering over a new breeze block wall? One builder said it's fine to render and another said not because the blocks will suck the moisture out of the render super quick. Thanks

Well said Roy.
We see so many posts on here where render or plaster has crazed or blown from the wall. All these problems are caused by bad prep, such as not killing the suction, or a poor key on the wall, weak or powdery surface etc. Preparation is paramount in plastering, rendering etc,, and a "good tradesman" knows that. You DON'T just mix up a batch and throw it on the wall, you check the wall first before you even start. If a job is done right, from the start, it's a good un.
