Just had new interior doors fitted and the joiner cut new hinge recesses in the frame, please can anyone tell me the best way to make the old recesses good.

With timber, make some thin shim like blocks, glue or pin in, fill any imperfections around the edges and sand flat once glue and filler gone off, undercoat and gloss, 99% invisible
