The old mixer tap neck has just sheared, its no suprise as its 17 years old, so we need to replace the whole tap assembly asap. its plumbed in as per pics. If possible id like to try it myself, perhaps from the elbow joint to the new tap fitting with a flexible hose. What would you expert chaps recommend....

Choose a tap with copper tails against flexible ones....if your luck is in they'll be the same length as the originals.
I've had some really good quality taps from Toolstations cheaper end of the range, if you want any recommendation. I can't see any isolating valves, unfortunately!

Yes no Isolating valves fitted at the time, The issue is that the taps and the 90 degree elbow joints are offset, im assuming the plumber must have bent the tails to fit....If I were to buy a tap with flexible ends could i cut tails about 100mm from the elbow bend and then attach the flexible pipes from the new tap to the cut pipe ?

Well you could but flexy pipes don't like any sharp bends or kinks......your vid shows a straight compression coupler and the threads will mate but may not seal perfectly. This is because the coupler has tapers to accept the olive but may object to a rubber washer.
Its quite ok to bend the copper tails once the tap is installed. If you choose a tap with flexy tails, try to get the type that joins to the 15mm copper with a compression coupling.
John :)

Thanks so much for the advice. the offset is around 2" over a length of about 14" so I think I will try the flexi option, and follow your advice with a compression coupling, Cheers!!!
