Our bath has Sanitan style victorian taps with plastic handles for grip, these were here when we moved in and have gradually worn and snapped when turning on the taps!

Now the cold tap has no grip!!! as all the 4 protruding prongs have snapped off!!!

Is it easy enough to replace just the heads? like these I have seen on ebay?

Or do i need to replace the whole mixer tap and shower head like this one?

Im hoping just the first! and how easy are these to replace? do i just turn off the water at the stopcock under the sink then try and remove the taps, adding the new ones???

Thanks in advance

hi if the taps are of the same make then there is no reason to replace the whole tap
i hope the cold feed is comming from tha header tank and not from the mains, as i have seen loads of children get almost scalded because they were fitted wrong, no plumber would ever fit shower mixers without the cold feed from the tank in the roof
And if you have a combi boiler its just as bad as the pressure would be higher on the cold side and that in turn can shut the boiler down by forcing the water back up the hot pipe so check it out
if so fix a wall mixer and be safe
