hi, im replacing a two way light switch with metal ones, and im a bit confused with the wires, the earth is attached to the metal back box, a yellow wire at the top of the old light switch, which im guessing is the COM, black and blue wire in the L1 and red in the L2, am i supposed to just put the wires in the same slots of the metal one and put the earth wire thats in the back box in the extra slot for the earth wire in the new metal light switch. any advice would be appreciated

Yep, that about sums it up, but you could also consider putting in an additonal link of earth wire between the earth terminal on the metal switch and the terminal on the metal back box.
Please don't - electrical installation by guesswork is a bad idea.
