Replacing this dimmer I've got

With a remote dimmer switch

No idea which one I need, the one I've got now says "Max Wattage: 400w" However with the remote ones you can get are 400w and 600w.

Any idea which one I need, I have no idea how you tell?

Thanks

If your existing dimmer is rated at 400w max output.
and your set up as far as load has not changed, replacing with 400w max output will be okay.

Thanks for the reply,

it says on the box

"Suitable for dimming"

Could I just use the ordinary switch I've got there now?

Do you actually have to use dimmer switches?

FilthyMcNastys, your original post was concerning the replacement of dimmers, so I assume that you want your lights to dim :?:
If you don't want them to dim you don't need to replace with dimmers, you can install standard rocker/toggle switches.
But now sounds like you already have these in place, but have purchased a dimmer you wanted to swap?
If you have purchased a lamp (bulb)? That states it is suitable for dimming, this should still function on a standard switch.
