Hi All, I have had to remove 2 floorboards next to each other that are 18mm thick and 170mm wide from the bedroom as they have been damaged and are now uneven. The usual suspects (DIY stores) only stock wood up to 140ish mm wide. What is the best option for replacement? Can I fill the narrow gap with 18mm flooring grade chipboard? I am worried that they would not be as strong as the original wood of the same thickness. I can get T&G narrower pieces of timber but they would need cutting down. Would a better option be to find a timber merchant to get exact replacement pieces. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
