I've just been told by our company who is replacing the double glazed windows that we need scaffolding. Can anyone tell me how much it would cost for a day or so while they are getting done. It's just one side of our house and its for two dormer windows.

Surely they should have known this when they priced for the job? It's not cheap even if it is only short term

Yes we thought that too. We've been quoted over £600 for the 24-48hrs! Not sure whether this is an average price.

I think you're mainly paying for the labour of putting up/down, 600 doesn't sound stupid but shop around, I did all the way round a detached house, quotes ranged from 2500-600(which I settled with), some companies have there own so you don't have this problem, get written quotes from other window companies

Thanks will do. We are getting some of our roofs done at the moment. So our roofer is coming back with prices. Will be interesting to see what he comes back with.

I would honestly inform this co. that it's not you who needs a scaffold but them. Unless it's written into your contract that you must foot the bill for anything -they've- forgotten then it's time to tell them to get on their bike...pinenot :)
