Hi,

Total newbie but after some advice.
Our Soakaway drain cover has been damaged and needs to be replaced; but I am unsure as to how the hopper is attached to the pipe further down in the soakaway. Would it just be a push fit? Or is it likey to be cemented/welded?

The part I need to replace is:
OSMADRAIN 4D507 4" P/E PLAIN HOPPER 150mm

Dont want to start removing block paving unless I know I can replace it easily. :?:

Mant thanks in advance.

Should be push fit joint at the base. You dont say if there's a trap fitted, although probably not needed if going to a soakaway. Worst case scenario, if it is solvent welded, you may be able to cut off the existing hopper leaving enough of a stub to fit a collar (Osma 4D205), then cut down the new hopper to suit level required, or fit shorter hopper, (Osma 4D503).

Is the actual hopper damaged or just the grid? New grids easily available for couple of £.

Thxs for the reply.

No trap fiited as you wrote. Unfortunately not the grate that is damaged but the surround it sits in

Seems hopper will be about £28 +P&P
