Need to replace a cylinder (direct) due to it being older than the ark. Its a really small cylinder and want to install a larger one to give more hot water. Airing cupboard has plenty of room.
Apart from altering pipework, any reason this could be a problem?
Also, the flat has storage heaters and the original cylinder has a dual type immersion, 1 boss on cylinder but it has two thermostats and two flying leads to switches. One switch has 'long' on the other has 'short' which I believe relates to the length of each part of the immersion? there soes not appear to be any timers relating to the switches, do you think one runs of the economy 7? If so should this be left on all the time? Are these the same size thread as normal immersions?
Or will it be better with the new cylinder to just use a normal immersion, one of the switches and maybe get a spark to wire a timer up to it?
Would be looking to put in a 1050 x 450 direct cylinder, what type of immersion should I get?
Hopefully this makes sense and you are able to advise!
Many thanks
