Hi everyone,
As part of our overall home renovation I would like to contract a plumber to replace our low level WC with a close coupled one. It is on a solid floor. I know that this will mean digging a hole in order to extend the soil pipe a bit further back, but is this a really complicated/time consuming (and therefore expensive) job? The builders we have had around don't seem to think it is a very good idea.

Hope you can give me the benefit of your wisdom!

Have you considered fitting a cabinet with concealed cistern and a back to wall (or cabinet!) toilet. Sometimes this saves moving the poo pipe.
