Hello,

Finally got around to replacing my mystery box which you lot correctly identified as an NTE5.
However....I pulled them apart and there's not as many terminals for my extensions in the new box as there was in the old.
I've posted a pic to show what I mean. I was hoping they'd be identical and I'd just copy the wiring from one to the other but lifes never that simple!!!!

As you can see there were 6 terminals in the old and there's only 4 in the new...What do I do now?

Take the ones out of 1 and 6 in the old one and terminate them safely out of the way - they are not normally needed.
Then it is just a case of swopping the wires like for like from the old to the new.
