Replacing Sliders with Aluminium Bi-Folds / No weather rating

Hi,

Getting to our garden through our sliders we have to use one step. This is fine.

We want to replace the sliders with Aluminium Bi-Folds. We've just been quoted and i've noticed that the spec of the door is low threshold and no weather rating.

As the threshold from inside to outside is not flush i.e. a step, does this "No Weather Rating" cause an issue?

Our plan is to replace the current step with a bigger step/patio area the size of the whole opening. So again the threshold will not be level as we'll be maintaining the step down into the garden.

If you got a step down you may as well fit a proper threshold, but set it in the floor so the top is level with the inside floor.
