I have an Ariston Compact 400 combi boiler. The radiators are working perfectly, but when I try to use the hot water, the water comes out cold or lukewarm (at best), and the radiators get hot (or hotter, if they're already on). It doesn't seem to make any difference if the boilder is switched to 'central heating' or 'direct hot water only' mode.
Does this sound like a problem with the 3-way (diverter) valve? If so, would it necessarily require a new valve (I have a feeling the part may no longer be available - the boiler is more than 15 years old, although it's been very reliable up till now)?
Any comments much appreciated.
